Welcome, you have reached the website of RIVERVIEW LODGE, where we offer you accommodation, Fly Fishing, Duck Hunting and Big Game Guiding.  We are located in one of New Zealands top alpine tourist spa resort towns, Hanmer Springs, and in the heart of trophy brown trout country, in the South Island of New Zealand.  Guests are welcome on an accommodtion only basis. We are the ideal place to come and have your vacation holiday and relax in style, privacy and comfort. 

Riverview Lodge is New Zealand owned and been operating for the past 25+ years by us, John & Robin Gemmell, born and raised "kiwi's".  We had a dream and now want to share our special place with you. Our lodge staff look forward to meeting & looking after you, and  our fly fishing guides will take you out on daily excursions to seek the trophy brown trout of a lifetime.

After a day out on the river, or one of treating yourself in the Hanmer Springs Alpine Village and Spa facilities, we ensure you return to relax in our accommodation lodge with its large decks, gardens and spectacular panoramic views.  After sharing your days experiences, a relaxing 3 course dinner will be prepared by our chef to complete your fun day.

During the winter months of May, June and July we offer a 5 day Duck Hunting package, designed for groups of 4 shooters and partners.  Also, we offer a partners program so please take a look at our Activities page.

Our Big Game Hunting is best during the rut and winter months, March, April, May and June.  Animals we specialize in for hunting are the Red Stag, Bull Tahr and Chamoi but other species can be arranged.
