The species of waterfowl we hunt are Paradise, Grey, Mallard and Spoonbill ducks, and Black Swan.  The Paradise Duck is endemic to New Zealand. 

We have secured some really good waters on approximately 20 different properties, within 30-60 minutes drive from Riverview Lodge. 

It is legal to bait ponds and to shoot a 5 shot automatic in New Zealand.  An average wing shot should get around 15 ducks per day.  Most hunts are for 5 days.

We only do a limited number of waterfowl hunts per season to allow us to spell our areas. 

 

  

We specialize in small groups - 4 hunters, and provide deluxe accommodations and first class service at all-inclusive reasonable rates. 

With the problems of shipping guns these days, Riverview Lodge has a supply of Beretta automatic shotguns on hand for clients to hire. 

We use an experienced and reliable taxidermist in Christchurch to arrange permits, customs and expedite waterfowl trophies for you if desired.

Partners Program - Non-participants are welcome to accompany their hunters. 

The Lodge has a 5 day program they can join in on, that includes Spa & Beauty package, Lunch and Wine Tour of local vineyards, shopping and exploring the beautiful city of Christchurch, a Whale Watch Trip, and the trans Alpine Scenic Train Excursion thru the South Island or part-thereof.
